Soundwave Festival 2012HOLE OFF THE SOUNDWAVE LINE UP & 2ND ANNOUNCEMENT COMING SOON…

Just over a week after the release of the lineup Soundwave Festival boss AJ Maddah has revealed in a series of comments on Twitter that Courtney Love’s band has dropped off the lineup.  He has also “pledged to get someone bigger“ to replace the band on the bill. A second round announcement for the festival is expected on Wednesday this week.

When first asked about rumours that Hole was bailing on the festival, Maddah told his followers that it was “probably” true and claimed that he would “ wait to talk to her dipshit agent on Monday night before commenting“ further. However over the course of Sunday afternoon further tweets revealed that Maddah had spoken to Love’s manager who had told Maddah that he had only made a promise to the festival in order to “get the fee” and that he has “no control over what Courtney does”.

According to Maddah the only excuse offered by Courtney Love’s management is the fact that Hole would be sharing the stage with Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit. Maddah says that he is “really mad about this” as he was “given so many assurances that this would not happen when I took the booking [and] only put her on after a campaign of harassment!”

AJ had originally intended to make a supplementary announcement of bands in early December, but on Saturday 16th October he announced that that he is “Moving the supplementary announcement to next week so fans of those bands will have chance to get tickets before sell-out in Melbourne The announcement will include “another couple of main stagers“ and is expected on Wednesday
