Three Day Festival Pre-Sale Tickets On Sale, 10am Monday 2 July

Peats Ridge Sustainable Arts & Music Festival is offering the general public a one-off chance to score discounted, early-bird, pre-sale tickets. These tickets will go on-sale from 10am on 2 July –in just 2 weeks’ time.

The Members’ pre-release tickets sold out extremely quickly earlier this year, and this is now your ONLY chance to score reduced price tickets before the general release tickets go on sale in late August.

To buy your tickets, all you have to do is jump onto to, at 10am on 02 July, for one of the most exciting, refreshing and immersive New Year’s festival experiences in Australia (Saturday 29 December to Tuesday 01 January 2013).

Pre-sale tickets cost just $260 (plus bf) for three days packed with mind blowing music, acts, creative craziness, and all types of fun and entertainment. The price also includes camping for three nights in the lush green Glenworth Valley – only one hour north of Sydney.

Festival Director, Matt Grant says Peats Ridge pre-sale has been deliberately kept well below the price of other multiple day festivals.
“It’s great that we’re still able to announce, year after year, that we are still amazing value-for-money for all our festival friends and music loving family,” he says.

“Pre-sale really gives us an opportunity to offer those organised and loyal festival lovers, and even music fans who want to try Peats Ridge for the very first time – a chance to do it on a family and friends style rate”.
“We are a unique festival, with a strong and welcoming community and offering affordable priced tickets to our dedicated fans has always been a mainstay of the Peats Ridge philosophy,” he says.

But don’t expect pre-sale tickets to hang around long.  The popularity of the Festival has been increasing year on year.  Last year’s festival saw 10,000 plus fans gather to see the likes of Gotye, Xavier Rudd, Salmonella Dub, The Stanton Warriors, Thundamentals and Hermitude, together with new acts: Husky, Oliver Tank and New Navy.

More than a music festival, Peats is a community of weird and wonderfully themed venues, art installations, and a huge variety of artistic performances, workshops, events, and educational talks.

Be prepared for anything – from comedy, circus, trapeze, dance, to eco-living and sustainability talks. The Festival has an established Healing Area, an inbuilt Kids Festival with a dedicated kids area and camping zone, eclectic markets, and amazing food and drinks (you literally can’t find a bad coffee at Peats).

“From cooling off in the river to taking a morning yoga class, filling up on delicious organic food or lying back in the chai temple listening to soulful tunes, Peats Ridge brings a relevant and contemporary array of sounds, both local and international, to one of the most beautiful landscapes,” says Grant.

Peats Ridge Festival is a world leading sustainable event, recognised by the United Nations, it has run most Sustainable Event in Australia two years in a row.  The Festival offers a family-friendly environment with a full festival program organised for children and family camping facilities included.

STEEL PANTHER are “Crude, rude, filthy, and more infectious than a bad case of herpes”. – Revolver Mag.

For STEEL PANTHER, bringing the halcyon days of metal back to the world is not a job… it’s a mission statement, a modus operandi, and a way of life.

In their first ever headline tour of Australia, STEEL PANTHER are primed for an all-out assault on the senses with Michael Starr commenting “I can’t wait to get my balls out in some fresh Australian air!” and Stixx adding “I can’t wait to come to Australia and rock all the genitals off your women then they’ll know what America tastes like!”

They have remained rock’s best kept secret for decades — prowling the Sunset Strip with weekly residencies while keeping the sleazy flame of rock ‘n’ rock alive… “But no longer. The ferocious STEEL PANTHER has been let out of its iron cage and has only one mission: to roar with the tiger-like growl and strut with the sensual prance of glam rock n’ roll from the halcyon days of the 1980s.” – Metal As F***

With their brand new album ‘Balls Out’ in tow and having just been nominated for Metal Hammer’s “Best International Band” Award, STEEL PANTHER will be bringing their full live show extravaganza to Australia this October!

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased securely online from our friends at Oztix using the links below:

With rumors and speculation floating around about why these two artists have been cancelled, organizers have issued the following statement:

“It is with great regret that Paperchase Touring and Entertainment announce that both P. Diddy and Missy Elliot’s performances at this year’s Supafest event will be cancelled. All other acts remain on the bill and are excited about coming to Australia to perform”.

Supafest is widely regarded as one of the world’s premier Urban Music Festivals – the event and it’s producers pride itself on having the leading artist’s of the genre perform each year at Supafest. In its third year, the event last year received world wide media acclaim which eventually put enormous pressure on the producers to make this years event bigger and better. A considerable amount of investment was used to lure the best available talent, and also to invest in larger production and upgrading venue amenities. The sales for Supafest 2012 have been steady and look like they will surpass last years attendances of 90,000, but in effect these numbers fall well short of the producers expectations to ensure commercial viability. Consequently, this has forced them to slightly modifythis year’s event to ensure that Supafest carries on in years to come. Both P. Diddy and Missy are legends of this genre but with the inability to ensure the events future, drastic decisions had to be made to ensure the Festivals commercial viability. Paperchase are extremely disappointed P. Diddy and Missy Elliot won’t be joining the festival this year, but are hoping they can work with these legendary artists in the future.

Paperchase are very excited to be bringing you the worlds greatest performer in Chris Brown, along with T Pain, Ludacris, Ice Cube, Trey Songz, Kelly Rowland, Lupe Fiasco, Rick Ross, Big Sean and Naughty by Nature who will deliver an event that will excite and entertain the festivals fan base.

Supafest Producers Dwayne Cross and John Denison stated, “We are very regretful of our decision to modify this years festival artist bill and it came with great pains to both of us. People may not beware but an artist such as P. Diddy only performs a handful of shows a year and to have secured him to appear at our event was monumental. We made the early decision to extend our budget for our event this year to try and make it bigger and better and were hoping for a greater response. Not withstanding this outcome we are thankful that the event will draw a larger audience than last year, but not sufficient enough to justify our additional investment. So a very hard decision had to be made for the survival of the event in future years to come. We understand that the majority of festivals have been down in numbers this year – some even cancelled!! We happen to be one of the few that have increased our turnover, but unfortunately our improvement wasn’t sufficient to ensure commercial viability. We are extremely proud of the event that we will stage this year and know that people will have a fantastic time. To those fans that we have disappointed, we apologize. We are promoting the RnB / Hip Hop genre with such a commitment in this territory and we ask you to please keep supporting Supafest and enjoy what promises to be a memorable event”.

29th February 2012 – Following advice from the NSW State Emergency Services and the Police, the Playground Weekender festival due to happen this weekend has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

 NSW State Emergency Service, comments:
The Bureau of Meterology (BOM) have issued a flood watch for the Hawkesbury – Nepean Rivers systems, including your event location at the Del Rio Riverside Resort in Webbs Creek.  The BOM predictions indicate moderate flooding but have not discounted the possibility of major flooding”.

In the interests of public safety, and as the emergency service responsible for storms and floods, the New South Wales State Emergency Service (NSWES) directs the Playground Weekender boutique music festival be cancelled under the State Emergency Service Act 1989 (section 22 (1a-c) (The Act).

The extensive flooding that has been forecast poses a significant risk to persons and property within the affected area, and under The Act the NSWSES has a responsibility to ensure persons do not enter emergency areas.”

 Andy Rigby, promoter comments;
“We have been planning this event all year and were anticipating it as much as our guests were. The safety of the guests, artists and staff at the event, and on their way to and from the event, is our main priority. Reluctantly we have followed advice that it would be unsafe to ask people to travel in these weather conditions, and as such the event cannot go ahead.”

Lisa Faulkner, Ambulance NSW comments:
“ASNSW has significant concerns regarding your event due to the geographical and isolated location being on the banks of the Hawkesbury river with regards to patron safety and if needed evacuation procedures”.

As per the ticketing terms and conditions, the organisers of Playground Weeknender will contact all ticketholders to inform them of the appropriate course of action imminently.

The promoters are also trying to urgently seek a replacement venue for some of the planned festivities to take place.  Details of which will be announced if and when they are confirmed.
