Parklife creative director John Wall says:   “We’ve picked a whole bunch of artists that we really love, some being long time favourites and some being the fresh crop of 2012 up and comers we think deserve superstardom. Almost all of them have new albums and singles this year, so I can’t wait to see all the new stuff live… Oh and shhhh: no so-called “EDM” auto-tune vocals…”

In 2000, Parklife became the first dance music event to be held in Centennial Park in Sydney. Today, the festival tours nationally and has over 100,000 attendees.

The inaugural Wirrina Bluegrass Festival to be held on the 7-9 September 2012 in South Australia would like to tell you a bit about one of its bands.

Geoff Bridgland (banjo, fiddle), Phil Parker (guitar and lead vocals), Andrew Hook (mandolin and guitar) Dave Taylor (bass) and Leonard Cohen (resonator guitar) are Old South Bluegrass Band.

They joined forces in 2010 bringing together many years of experience in bluegrass music in SA, interstate and overseas. Old South focus on harmony singing and instrumental precision. Their soon to be released first CD will be followed by a second later this year. The songs reflect the band’s eclectic style, including bluegrass adaptations of songs from other genres as well as traditional music including gospel, a style deeply linked to the core of bluegrass.

With most of their members having decades of experience, Old South like to provide encouragement and support to all interested in any aspect of bluegrass music. As they could see that the Wirrina Bluegrass Festival has common beliefs on support and encouragement they were the first to sign up.

STEEL PANTHER are “Crude, rude, filthy, and more infectious than a bad case of herpes”. – Revolver Mag.

For STEEL PANTHER, bringing the halcyon days of metal back to the world is not a job… it’s a mission statement, a modus operandi, and a way of life.

In their first ever headline tour of Australia, STEEL PANTHER are primed for an all-out assault on the senses with Michael Starr commenting “I can’t wait to get my balls out in some fresh Australian air!” and Stixx adding “I can’t wait to come to Australia and rock all the genitals off your women then they’ll know what America tastes like!”

They have remained rock’s best kept secret for decades — prowling the Sunset Strip with weekly residencies while keeping the sleazy flame of rock ‘n’ rock alive… “But no longer. The ferocious STEEL PANTHER has been let out of its iron cage and has only one mission: to roar with the tiger-like growl and strut with the sensual prance of glam rock n’ roll from the halcyon days of the 1980s.” – Metal As F***

With their brand new album ‘Balls Out’ in tow and having just been nominated for Metal Hammer’s “Best International Band” Award, STEEL PANTHER will be bringing their full live show extravaganza to Australia this October!

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased securely online from our friends at Oztix using the links below:

Just when you thought this rocket ride could not get any hotter, Future Entertainment is pleased to announce a stunning supernova of fresh new stars will join the party that’s already way outta’ sight.

A lot of acts are described as “needing no introduction” these days, but when it comes to NEW ORDER it actually rings true.  In the words of Brett Robinson, Tours Director of Future Entertainment “New Order are one of the true pioneer’s of electronica, at the fore front of the new wave movement and Swedish House Mafia is the biggest electronic band of this time – these two bands alone represent the past and present of music that sit at the very heart and soul of the Future Music Festival”

Hailing from the UK, Mercury Prize nominated funksters FRIENDLY FIRES are set to WOW crows with their innovative sounds! Hot on the heels of dropping their latest and greatest album, The Papercut Chronicles II, New York’s finest hip hopping rockers, GYM CLASS HEROS, are set to blow the popsicle stand sky high, whilst free-styling, rap-firing grime master PROFESSOR GREEN will also be on the launch pad come party time.

Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen’s (of Pendulum fame) latest meteoric project, KNIFE PARTY, will destroy you with lazers just like their recent single suggests. Returning Future Music Festival favorites MARK RONSON and ZANE LOWE are teaming up to unveil their super secret new collaboration, so expect things to get epic. Nuff’ said …

The milky-way’s freshest Trance all-stars, Ireland’s JOHN O’CALLAGHAN, Norway’s ORJAN NILSEN and local favourite TYDI will be on hand to fire seismic supersonic build upS.

Deep Dish legend and Techno demi-god in his own right, DUBFIRE, German underground legend, OLIVER HUNTEMANN, dubstep prodigy FLUX PAVILION, multi–genre wizard KILL THE NOIZE and spit-firing US Electro gun PORTER ROBINSON are all packing their bags to go deliciously deep into overdrive.

And last but certainly not least, Australia’s favourite party starters; uber-cool first lady of House, RUBY ROSE and DJ/instrumentalist TIMMY TRUMPET will also be on hand to turn the party dial up to a roar.
