ATP I'll Be Your Mirror 2013, MelbourneAll Tomorrow's Parties Australia 2013ATP RETURNS TO AUSTRALIA WITH I’LL BE YOUR MIRROR 2013!

Described as the “ultimate mix tape”, All Tomorrow’s Parties is a boutique festival that goes against the grain of the larger, more commercial music festivals – with quality and customer experience coming first – presenting award winning sound and acclaimed organisation.

Each new All Tomorrow’s Parties event invites an artist or band to handpick their favourite performers to play at the festival. In 2009 ATP presented its inaugural Australian series of events headlined & curated by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at Mt Buller Victoria, Cockatoo Island Sydney and Riverstage Brisbane to widespread critical acclaim.

“For all the many and varied highlights, ATP was infinitely greater than the sum of its parts. The music, the vistas, the people, the atmosphere: for all those lucky enough to attend the inaugural Australian ATP, this was an event to cherish forever.” – The Australian

After years of fan emails and letters, ATP will return in February 2013 for a very special I’ll Be Your Mirror event in Melbourne. Acting as sister events to the ATP Festivals which usually take place in holiday resorts, I’ll Be Your Mirror is a series of artist curated music, film and art events taking place in cities worldwide, launched by ATP in 2011. IBYM is ATP without the accommodation aspect and is named after the b-side to The Velvet Underground’s original All Tomorrow’s Parties 7″ single.

Joining ATP as guest co-curators for IBYM are Australian natives THE DRONES. The band have released a number of albums on the ATP Recordings label, and it gives us great pride and pleasure to ask them to co-curate this very special event – we consider them to be one of the country’s greatest ever bands and very worthy ATP curators.

Here’s the line up so far:
Saturday February 16th curated by ATP
my bloody valentine, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Swans, The Dead C, HTRK, Thee Oh Sees, Sleepy Sun, Standish/Carlyon
+ more to be confirmed

Sunday February 17th curated by The Drones
The Drones, Beasts Of Bourbon (original line-up), Einstürzende Neubauten, Lost Animal, Harmony, Cam Butler & The Shadows Of Love

Queenscliff Music Festival 201216TH QUEENSCLIFF MUSIC FESTIVAL FIRST ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT

Organisers are proud to announce a QMF coup, so come on down to witness the inimitable Missy Higgins, performing for the very first time at the festival. Then, step right up ‘cause it’s time for the infectious energy of The Cat Empire and move on out for enigmatic Yolngu songman, Gurrumul. And that’s just three of the outstanding acts headlining three sublime days of music festival entertainment. With the move last year to the gorgeous seaside surrounds of Princess Park, QMF has been revitalized anew with Early Bird tickets sold out already, but plenty of sites available for happy campers. Get in quick, as there’s only 1000 sites !

“I’ve been to Queenscliff Music Festival as a punter before … but never actually played, so I’m really excited about performing this November. It’s such a great festival, just the right amount of “laid-back” for my liking. “ – Missy Higgins

Australian favourites, The Cat Empire return to QMF for the first time since 2003.   One of Australia’s most successful touring bands, they are internationally renowned for turning any room into a festival, any festival into a party.  The band will release a new album internationally in March 2013.  They can’t wait to hit the stage at Queenscliff this year, so bring your dancing shoes…

Gurrumul, Rolling Stone’s 2011 ‘Most Important Voice’ will enthrall audiences at Queenscliff as an astonishing performer who truly transcends cultural boundaries. Surf coast punters can bask in the glow felt recently by HRH The Queen of England, US President Barack Obama, Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary of Denmark – all of whom have enjoyed an audience with Gurrumul recently.  The good folk of Queenscliff Borough shall be rolling out the red carpet and trimming the cucumber sandwiches, but they draw the line at corgis! (It’s a Dog Free Zone).

Other standout acts for this years’ event include powerhouse indie rock gods, You Am I, along with Something For Kate, rock balladeers Baby Animals and British India. For those who like to rock, Ian Moss, Shannon Noll and Diesel will – no doubt -bring down the house.  Charismatic hip-hop team TZU join the awesome goodness (and oh-so-badness) of Owl Eyes, Emma Louise, Clairy Browne & The Bangin’ Rackettes alongside the country twang of Ruby Boots. JJJ’s unearthed ‘Splendour In The Grass’ winners for 2012, Kingswood, line up with King Cannons and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard for a silver jubilee of sounds. Hirsute hardcases The Beards and soul sensations Electric Empire, Pinky Beecroft & The White Russians, Chase The Sun, and All The Colours round out the announcements to date.

Steel Panther Australia Tour PosterSTEEL PANTHER’S FIRST EVER HEADLINE TOUR OF AUSTRALIA!

STEEL PANTHER are “Crude, rude, filthy, and more infectious than a bad case of herpes”. – Revolver Mag.

For STEEL PANTHER, bringing the halcyon days of metal back to the world is not a job… it’s a mission statement, a modus operandi, and a way of life.

In their first ever headline tour of Australia, STEEL PANTHER are primed for an all-out assault on the senses with Michael Starr commenting “I can’t wait to get my balls out in some fresh Australian air!” and Stixx adding “I can’t wait to come to Australia and rock all the genitals off your women then they’ll know what America tastes like!”

They have remained rock’s best kept secret for decades — prowling the Sunset Strip with weekly residencies while keeping the sleazy flame of rock ‘n’ rock alive… “But no longer. The ferocious STEEL PANTHER has been let out of its iron cage and has only one mission: to roar with the tiger-like growl and strut with the sensual prance of glam rock n’ roll from the halcyon days of the 1980s.” – Metal As F***

With their brand new album ‘Balls Out’ in tow and having just been nominated for Metal Hammer’s “Best International Band” Award, STEEL PANTHER will be bringing their full live show extravaganza to Australia this October!

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased securely online from our friends at Oztix using the links below:

Supafest 2012P DIDDY AND MISSY ELLIOT CANCELLED FOR SUPAFEST 2012!

With rumors and speculation floating around about why these two artists have been cancelled, organizers have issued the following statement:

“It is with great regret that Paperchase Touring and Entertainment announce that both P. Diddy and Missy Elliot’s performances at this year’s Supafest event will be cancelled. All other acts remain on the bill and are excited about coming to Australia to perform”.

Supafest is widely regarded as one of the world’s premier Urban Music Festivals – the event and it’s producers pride itself on having the leading artist’s of the genre perform each year at Supafest. In its third year, the event last year received world wide media acclaim which eventually put enormous pressure on the producers to make this years event bigger and better. A considerable amount of investment was used to lure the best available talent, and also to invest in larger production and upgrading venue amenities. The sales for Supafest 2012 have been steady and look like they will surpass last years attendances of 90,000, but in effect these numbers fall well short of the producers expectations to ensure commercial viability. Consequently, this has forced them to slightly modifythis year’s event to ensure that Supafest carries on in years to come. Both P. Diddy and Missy are legends of this genre but with the inability to ensure the events future, drastic decisions had to be made to ensure the Festivals commercial viability. Paperchase are extremely disappointed P. Diddy and Missy Elliot won’t be joining the festival this year, but are hoping they can work with these legendary artists in the future.

Paperchase are very excited to be bringing you the worlds greatest performer in Chris Brown, along with T Pain, Ludacris, Ice Cube, Trey Songz, Kelly Rowland, Lupe Fiasco, Rick Ross, Big Sean and Naughty by Nature who will deliver an event that will excite and entertain the festivals fan base.

Supafest Producers Dwayne Cross and John Denison stated, “We are very regretful of our decision to modify this years festival artist bill and it came with great pains to both of us. People may not beware but an artist such as P. Diddy only performs a handful of shows a year and to have secured him to appear at our event was monumental. We made the early decision to extend our budget for our event this year to try and make it bigger and better and were hoping for a greater response. Not withstanding this outcome we are thankful that the event will draw a larger audience than last year, but not sufficient enough to justify our additional investment. So a very hard decision had to be made for the survival of the event in future years to come. We understand that the majority of festivals have been down in numbers this year – some even cancelled!! We happen to be one of the few that have increased our turnover, but unfortunately our improvement wasn’t sufficient to ensure commercial viability. We are extremely proud of the event that we will stage this year and know that people will have a fantastic time. To those fans that we have disappointed, we apologize. We are promoting the RnB / Hip Hop genre with such a commitment in this territory and we ask you to please keep supporting Supafest and enjoy what promises to be a memorable event”.
