The Vision of Friends of Folk Festival

With the recent closing of iconic Brisbane music venues, it has never been more important to support the local music scene. That’s why Friends of Folk Festival 2011 is more passionate and dedicated than ever to provide an income source for local musicians and encourage the continuation of their talent.

Imagine a family-friendly music/arts festival run by the people, for the people; a festival that fuses art, community and local business; where friends and strangers gather to share good music, good food, and explore the tapestry of our local arts scene!

‘FOFF’ is a festival with old-school values (community, sharing, teamwork) that combines music, film and other art forms from established and emerging artists. Relax with the family, grab something from the BBQ, have a beer, pull out a guitar and jam with your neighbours – all while enjoying some of Brisbane’s best artists at work: a concert for Brisbane, by Brisbane, in Brisbane.

Through the support of local businesses, government and the people of Brisbane, our dream is to make this an affordable, all-ages, not-for-profit festival – just a celebration of our local talent!
